Keyhole Card

 Keyhole Card

Good morning crafters. I found this little beauty on the net offered by Lorraine Cich. It intrigued me and I needed to try it.

The base is Basic White 4.5 x 11", scored at 5.5", top fold. Next, I added a piece of DSP from the Flowering Fields pack. Using a die (I forgot the name) I cut a keyhole out near the top. Then I daubed Balmy Blue all around the outside of the cut out and glued it back in place to be on the inside of the card.

On a scrap piece of Basic White I stamped, in Balmy Blue, the flower from the Eden's Garden set then, fussy cut it. I added another piece of DSP from the same paper, 1.5 x 4 near the bottom of the card.

The flower was put on with dimensionals off center of the cutout. Lastly, I added three Champagne stones and a linen ribbon bow.

Give it a try, I think you'll like the out come. Stamp with Lorraine keyhole card on youTube.com.

Happy crafting, until next time

New Horizons DSP

Good morning, everyone. I chose the new DSP, New Horizons, for my card today because it is so versatile. This card is very simple, but I have seen some with fabulous layouts on Pinterest.

I picked this particular scene from all the others because it reminds me of the pond that is near my home and have spent 40+ years boating, waterskiing, swimming and just enjoying the views there.

I started with a Night of Navy base 4.5" x 11", scored at 5.5".  The first layer is metallic silver, 4" x 5.25".
My next layer is Basic White linen because I love the texture it adds. Then, I used my score board to add the three lines on the bottom. They are 1/4" apart.  The image is 3" x 3", layer on a Night of Navy base
3 1/8" x 3 1/8".  To keep it clean and simple (CAS), I only used a one word sentiment. I also added the birds by stamping off  in Basic Gray to give the feel of distance.

Thank you for stopping by and happy crafting ☘ Maureen

Hats Off

Hello crafters, today I'm launching my new blog as an Independent Stamping Up Demonstrator, Maureen's Crafting Studio.

I thought, because men's cards are the hardest to come up with, that's where I would start. Hats Off is a great utility card and die set because it lets you design a card for men, women, and kids.

I started with a base card of Evening Evergreen, then add a layer of Beauty of the Earth and to give it more  dimention, I added a strip of burlap ribbon in the upper left side. Using Basic White paper, I stamped the hat and #1 then colored the hat using SU's new Stampin'Blends #500 and #600. Then, die cut it out along with the #1 and added it to the front of the hat. To add, You're The Best, I stamped the sentiment on Basic White and cut a fishtail banner for the end.

Inside, I used just a simple Happy Birthday on a Basic White top note die. To tie it all together I added a strip of Beauty of The Earth on the envelope.

Please visit again as I will be added more cards on a regular basis.

Thanks for visiting and happy crafting Maureen
